Backpacks give dignity to schoolchildren in refuges

Brisbane’s Courier Mail covered Friends With Dignity’s 2015 Back To School Campaign.

Friends With Dignity were able to supply fully stocked backpacks to more than 500 kids in refuges across Queensland and New South Wales as part of their Back 2 School Drive.

Children living in refuges are required to enrol at the nearest school but often had nothing to take to class. The backpacks cost about $30 to put together include a water bottle, lunchbox, exercise books and stationery.

Thank you to all of our friends for our support and helping us let these kids start the new school year with dignity!
