Friends with Dignity

Our partnership with The BUSY Group

The BUSY Group strengthens its impact with a $90,000 commitment to support families escaping domestic violence

Since 2023, The BUSY Group has been a proud partner of Friends with Dignity. In that time, their support has grown to more than $180,000 through financial contributions, hands-on involvement and year-round commitment to our programs.

"Supporting Friends with Dignity reflects The BUSY Group's core belief that everyone deserves pathways to opportunity, no matter their circumstances," said Paul Miles, Managing Director of The BUSY Group. "We're proud to stand alongside an organisation doing such vital work in our community. This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to helping families rebuild with dignity and hope."

With nearly five decades helping people overcome barriers through employment and education, The BUSY Group has become one of Australia’s foremost providers of apprenticeships, employment services, alternative education and skills solutions. Like us, they understand that rebuilding a life requires practical support, respect and sustained commitment. Their involvement reflects a partnership built on shared values and genuine care for the families we serve together.

A growing commitment to impact

Since joining us in 2023, The BUSY Group has supported Friends with Dignity in significant ways:

  • Over $180,000 in total contributions including a newly pledged $80,000 over two years (2025–2026).
  • $10,000 to help launch Club UR, our new Urgent Request Fund.
  • Event sponsorship including two years as a major sponsor of our April Lunch with Friends.
  • Hands-on volunteering with staff contributing time in our warehouse under our Corporate Volunteering Program.
  • Ongoing collection support by becoming a Christmas and PJ Drive collection point each year.
  • Leadership involvement including CEO Paul Miles helping celebrate our 800th Sanctuary.

Every contribution—financial, practical or hands-on—helps us support families rebuilding their lives after domestic and family violence.

Our National Fundraising and Programs Manager Tracey Wickham has worked closely with The BUSY Group over the years:

“With a charity such as Friends with Dignity, there are so many ways we need help to do what we do every day to support victim-survivors of domestic violence. The long-term financial support and commitment from The BUSY Group allows us to operate at a level that supports both our operational expenses and our practical programs. Their advocacy, through their teams volunteering, attending events, and actively taking part in our collection drives, is what makes this partnership truly unique.”

Launching Club UR: Immediate help when families need it most

One of the most impactful parts of The BUSY Group’s support is their $10,000 contribution to launch Club UR, our new fund dedicated to responding to time-sensitive, critical Urgent Requests.

These requests often cover small but essential needs that make the biggest difference when families transition into safety such as moving costs, driving lessons, household repairs, or security camera installation. All are real needs faced by victim-survivors who cannot afford these expenses.

Thanks to The BUSY Group, many of these urgent requests can now be fulfilled immediately without waiting for additional fundraising. While some requests will still be shared with our community to maintain transparency and connection, The BUSY Group’s support ensures families never wait longer than necessary.

Looking ahead

With multi-year support secured through 2027, we’re excited to continue growing this partnership by strengthening Club UR, expanding joint storytelling, exploring workplace giving and creating more opportunities for The BUSY Group’s staff and networks to get involved.

Partnerships like this are at the heart of our mission. They allow us to respond faster, reach more families, and work toward a future where safety is possible for everyone.

Want to partner with us?

If your business or community group is looking for a meaningful way to give back, we’d love to partner with you. Together, we can create real impact for families rebuilding their lives after domestic violence.
