Our 900th Sanctuary

900 Sanctuaries. 900 fresh starts.

This week, we reached a milestone that speaks volumes:
900 fully furnished homes created under our Sanctuary Program for victim-survivors of domestic violence.

That’s:

  • 900 kettles, to make that first cup of tea.
  • 900 toasters, microwaves and kitchen sets for everyday meals.
  • Over 900 bathrooms stocked with everyday essentials.
  • Well over 900 beds built and made ready for a safe, relaxing nights sleep.

It’s easy to forget the everyday items that make a house feel like home — until you’ve had to leave everything behind. Over the past 10 years, we’ve quietly stepped into empty apartments and houses and turned them into safe, welcoming spaces for families fleeing violence. This 900th Sanctuary — set up in Queensland — is a powerful reminder of what we can do when community comes together.

We’re incredibly proud, deeply grateful, and yes — it’s bittersweet. That 900 families have needed our help is heartbreaking. But being able to help 900 families? That’s powerful. To every volunteer who’s assembled furniture, every donor who’s given a toaster or a fridge, and every supporter who’s championed our work — thank you.

As we quietly approach 1,000, we’re reminded just how much work is still ahead. Thank you to every person who’s donated, volunteered, or simply cared. This work isn’t possible without you.
